Homegoing services for Mrs. Ruth Morton, 86, of Lithonia, formerly of New York City, will be held Saturday, February 20 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Tom Walker officiating. Entombment will follow at Melwood Cemetery. In life Mrs. Morton was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and an avid bowler. She passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 17. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Jacob Morton, Sr. and is survived by her children and spouses, Jacob, Jr. and Marianne Morton, Julius Morton, Linda and Gilbert Williams, Sr., Lydia James, Toni and Adrian Merrick, Sr., Tyrone and Melissa Morton; grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Michael, Michelle and Wendell, Penny and Todd, Derek and Coral, Yvette and Wade, Gilbert, Jr. and Phyllis, Jermaine, Adrian, Jr. and Melissa, Joy and Darryl, Robert, Damien, Damian and Rosalyn, Jason and Tammy, Julie Marie and LaMar; twenty-one great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Smith and many other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. Friday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
