Ryland “Riley” Carl Tammen, 76, of Scottdale, Ga passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022.He was the beloved Husband of Joanna “Jody” (Baker) Tammen. They were committed to one another for 24 years and married for 15 years.
He was born in Watseka, just outside the small town of Gilman, Illinois, to Ogreda (Gagnon) and Dorrance Tammen and raised by his grandmother, Gladys Tammen.
Riley retired after a full career in the automobile industry.
Food, friends and family were the staples of Riley’s household. He never failed to invite people over for a drink or dinner, and sometimes, he even remembered to tell his wife before they arrived. He wasn’t being rude; he just loved people. His most sacred and special times were spending time with friends and family.
There were two seasons in his home: Golf Season and Football Season. He was an avid golfer in his younger years and the NFL’s best couch commentator right up till his last days. He loved watching Alabama football.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandmother and sister, Beatrice LaVoie and brother-in-law, Ted.
Riley is survived by his wife Jody, daughter Lauren McCall (Beau), son, Gregg Tammen (Jennifer), granddaughter Brittany Mangan (Donald), brothers Roy Tammen (Judy) and D.M. Tammen, Jr., and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home (2773 N. Decatur Rd. Decatur, Ga) on Saturday, Feb 5. There will be a gathering at the family home following the service.
