TARPLEY, Sallie –
Mrs. Sallie B. Tarpley died Wednesday, October 14, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Warren E. Tarpley. Mrs. Tarpley was born May 18, 1920 in the Rosebud Community of Gwinnett County. She was retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. after 30 years and was a member of Belvedere United Methodist church for 55 years. Mrs. Tarpley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eileen T. and Joe George of Lawrenceville; son and daughter-in-law, Warren B. and Elizabeth J. Tarpley of Snellville; grandchildren, David and wife Tracey George, Matthew Tarpley and Stephanie Tarpley; great grandchildren, Kaylee and Tyler George, Aubrey Fraser-Tarpley; brother-in-law, J. C. Carter, Jr. of Grayson; sister-in-law, Louise H. Piper of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17th at 11 A.M. at Belvedere United Methodist Church in Decatur with Dr. Jesse C. Walter officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 16th at A. S. Turner & Sons and from 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday at the church.
