Sallie Warren Cook, age 87, of Decatur, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. Ms. Cook was born in Statesboro, GA and was raised in Blackshear, GA. During her high school years, she played on the basketball team. She attended Southern College of Pharmacy , a part of Mercer University, graduating with a B.S. degree in 1953. After graduation, she along with her husband, owned and operated Cook's Pharmacy in Decatur for 35 years. She was an active member of University Heights United Methodist Church in Decatur. She enjoyed music, fishing and the outdoors. Survivors include her son; Michael Cook of Douglasville, her sister; Frances Taylor of Blackshear, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Elton L. Cook in 2008. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, with burial following at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker. Sallie gave to many charities, so in lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions to University Heights UMC, The American Cancer Society, The American Diabetes Society or Muscular Dystrophy Association. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 8th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, Decatur, GA
