Sam S. Brown, Jr.

Sam S. Brown, Jr., 72, of Snellville passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005. He was born in Manchester, GA and moved to Atlanta in 1946. After graduating from Bass High, he attended GA Tech before joining the Air Force where he attained the rank of Captain. He resided in the Atlanta area for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Atlanta.  Surviving is his wife Joyce Brown; daughter, Vanessa Bachman of Canton; son, Sam S. Brown, III and wife Kristen of Decatur; daughter, Judy Brown of Snellville; one grandson; two granddaughters; sister, Eleanor Castile and husband Billy of Warm Springs; and brother, Henry Brown of Orlando, FL. Also surviving are stepson, Kevin Palmer and wife Tracy of Marietta; stepdaughter, Cathy Miller and husband Stan of Snellville; five step granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12th at 2 p.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons in Decatur.  Interment at Decatur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to In Touch, First Baptist Church of Atlanta or The Baptist Children's Home. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
