Sandra Carley

Sandra Marie Lineberger Carley, 84, passed away on Saturday February 1, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Sandy Carley was born on December 14, 1940, in Macon GA. Sandra was a devoted wife and mother. She also established herself as a well known interior designer in the Atlanta area.

Sandra attended UGA and achieved a bachelors degree in Art History, her continued love of all things Dawgs was clear in her all things red and black basement. She married George H. Carley on August 20, 1960. Her love of design and antiques led her to start her own successful business, Sandra Carley Interiors, ASID. Sandy created beauty in everything she touched. She enjoyed being a member of the Junior League of DeKalb County and was active in several projects, including the restoration of 716 West (formerly known as The Mary Gay House). Sandy was an avid traveler who loved taking friends and colleagues on antique hunting trips throughout Great Britain and Europe. Most importantly, Sandy loved her family deeply and was proud to support her husband and his career.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rilla and Eli Lineberger, her brother James Lineberger and her beloved husband, The Honorable George Carley. Sandy is survived by her son George H. Carley, Jr, daughter in law, Lisa, three grand children, sister Linda Mullen and her two nephews and her dear friends the McCurdy family. Visitation is from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday February 5th. Funeral Service is 11am Thursday February, 6th, both will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons' Funeral Home in Decatur.
