Sandra Pilgrim Wages

Our beloved wife and mother, Sandra Pilgrim Wages, age 79 of Stone Mountain entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 12, 2022 after a twenty-one month long battle with brain cancer.  

Born to Roy and Dot Pilgrim, Sandra grew up in Atlanta with her sisters, Fay and Dee.  Sandra was a nurturer at her core. Second to her love and caring for her family, was her love and caring for animals.  She was an avid horseback rider and a fierce tennis player.  She later worked as a veterinary assistant, and rescued countless animals who wandered into her garden sanctuary that she tended to meticulously.  Above all else, Sandra's greatest joy was her role as a wife to her husband, Thomas, and as a mother to her son, Jeff.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Wages; her son, Jeff Wages; her grandson, Evan, and his mother, Robyn; her sister, Dee Morris; her step-son, Curtiss Wages, and his sons, Daniel and Cody; and her beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Fay Patterson; her horse, Mister, and her 5 dogs and numerous cats.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home with Minister Harold Savage officiating.  Interment will be in Hillandale Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 6-8PM at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 760 Pollard Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30315.  A.S.
