Sara A. Burke

Mrs. Sara Ansley Burke, 90, of Decatur, peacefully passed away Monday, April 20. Born July 26, 1924, in Thomson, GA, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Chessie Fulbright Ansley. Sara was a 43 year member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burke was preceded in death by her husband, "her everything", of 54 years, John M. Burke, Sr, she is survived by her sons, John Burke and his wife, Kitty, and Michael Burke and his wife, Gina; daughters, Beth Weathers and her husband, David, Becky Burke and her husband, Rich, and Cathy Burke; sister, Bernice Pike; six grandchildren, Ansley, Katie, Patrick, Chessie, Allison, and Emily; and great-grandson, Luke.

A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 23 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, with Father Jim Harrison officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30315. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
