Sarah John (Johny) Maret, 100 years old, passed away October 12, 2015. She was born to B. F. and Kathryn Cosby of Dadeville, Alabama on June 3, 1915. Johny had four sisters and one brother, all of whom are deceased. She was devoted to her family. Mrs. Maret attended Auburn University and Jacksonville State College before moving to Decatur in 1945. She was very active in church and civic affairs. She served on the Administrative Board, Board of Trustees, Staff-Parish Committee, Facilities Committee, Endowment Trust Fund and was President of the Paty Sunday School Class at Decatur First United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer receptionist at her church for many years. She was PTA President at College Heights Elementary School and Decatur High School. Survivors include her daughter, Judith Keyeck and son-in-law, Tony of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter-in-law, Vicki Maret of Dawsonville, GA; six grandchildren, Jennifer Keyeck Schill and husband, Brian of Aliquippa, PA, Stephanie Keyeck Dobson and husband, Michael of Suwanee, GA, Ross Keyeck of Lawrenceville, GA, Carrie Maret Larrison and husband, Justin of Cumming, GA, Kimberly Maret O'Connor and husband, Jimmy of Jefferson, GA and Sarah Maret of Kennesaw, GA; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Maret was preceded in death by her son, Victor. The family will receive friends at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday evening, October 15th from 5:30 to 7:30. The funeral will be held at 11:00 Friday morning, October 16th at Decatur First United Methodist Church, Decatur, GA with burial in Heritage Cemetery, Montgomery, Alabama at 3:30 cst.
