Sara Ivey Loveless, 100, of Atlanta, passed away on December 5, 2018. Sara, a lifelong Methodist, will be forever remembered for her strong faith in God, her quick wit, and her inclusion of all.
The visitation will be at 10:30 am with the memorial service following at 11:30 am on Friday morning December 7, 2018 at A.S. Turner & Sons with graveside following at Decatur Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. D. B. Shelnutt, Jr. and Rev. Dan Brown will officiate.
Ms. Loveless was born in Avondale Estates, GA to James E. and Jenna David Ivey on October 19, 1918. She attended Georgia State College for Women (now Georgia College and State University) in Milledgeville, GA. She worked for First National Bank of Atlanta (now Wells Fargo) for over 30 years and was the organist at Avondale Methodist Church from 1956-1966.
Sara is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John David “Brother” Ivey and her son, Joseph Edgar “Eddie” Loveless, Jr.
Sara is survived by her daughter, Cathy Loveless Mobley; grandchildren Mark Loveless (Pat), Kyle Loveless, Cheryl Mobley Cloar (Alan), Grant Loveless (Tiffany), and Jenna Mobley Kennedy (Patrick); great grandchildren Catherine Lee Cloar, Timothy Cloar and Maie Kennedy; cousins and friends, including many at Briarcliff Oaks, her home for 25 years.
