Mrs. Sara Folger Obert, 88, of Avondale Estates died Wednesday, December 23, 2009. A native of DeKalb County, Mrs. Obert was the widow of Rev. LeRoy Obert. She retired with over 25 years of service from DeKalb Medical Center, where she was one of the first employees. Mrs. Obert was the church secretary at Ormewood Park Presbyterian Church for many years and was currently a member at Columbia Presbyterian Church where she was a teacher of the fourth grade Sunday School class.  She was a member of the Presbyterian Women and a longtime resident of Presbyterian Village. Mrs. Obert is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Joanne Folger of Lilburn; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Barry Hurford of Liburn; four grandchildren; one great grandson; sisters, Zadie Johnson of Tucker, Helen Whiting of Decatur, Nelle Rominger of Birmingham, AL; brother, James Nash of Annandale, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Columbia Presbyterian Church at 3 P.M. on Tuesday, December 29th with Dr. Tom Hagood officiating. Burial will follow in Melwood Cemetery next to her first husband, Frank Folger. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons and 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to  Columbia Presbyterian Church, 711 Columbia Dr., Decatur, GA 30030 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 1925 Century Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30345. A.
