Sarah Florine Underwood

S.Florine Underwood, 86, entered into rest in peaceful sleep at her residence, Thursday morning, August 3, 2017. Ms. Underwood (Flo) was born and raised in Murrayville, GA where she graduated from high school and then attended business college in Gainesville, GA. She then found work with a small business and later the A. B. Dick Co. where she served for many years and rose to level of Office Supervisor.

After retirement she served as a volunteer at Piedmont Hospital and the Fox Theater. Flo was a kind, generous and loving person and a devoted friend to all that her. She was a fun person with a quick wit and brought joy to every gathering. She leaves us all with loving memories.

Flo is survived by her beloved sister Kathleen (Kitty) U. and her husband Donald M. Grogan, North Augusta, SC. and two sisters-in-law, JoAnn R., wife of deceased brother L. Dean Underwood, Dunwoody, GA and Sharon R., wife of deceased brother Julius T. (JT) Underwood, Gainesville, GA and 17 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents J. Turner and Vila W. Underwood, Murrayville, GA,; her sister Pauline (Polly) and her husband Arthur (Jim) P. King and brother Fred Underwood and 4 other brothers and sisters-in-law: A. Roy Underwood and his wife Frances, G. Lee Underwood and his wife Sarah, T. Jackson (Jack) and his wife Jeanette and Guy E. Underwood and his wife Nell.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 800 South Enota Drive, Gainesville, GA 30501. All guests are invited to attend a reception at the Church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church at the above address. A. S.
