Sarah Lois Ozburn Ellis, 86, of Atlanta, died on Monday, June 22, 2015. Born in Monticello, GA to Florrie Lee Aaron Ozburn and Tom Watson Ozburn, she was the last survivor of six siblings. Lois was a graduate of Girls High School in Atlanta and a long-time tax examiner with the IRS. Lois was a lifelong Christian and an active member of Druid Hills Baptist Church. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lois enjoyed cooking, tending to her flowers, traveling and going to the beach. With her warm, inviting smile and soothing voice, she taught unconditional love, patience, the importance of tithing, and the value of a good cup of coffee to her family. A naturally social lady, Lois volunteered her time in many ways with her church and her community. Delivering flowers, a home-cooked meal, and a cake were among her favorite things to do when visiting with friends, family, and homebound church members. In the past few years she was cared for by her loving family and devoted caregivers. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Hansell Ellis, Jr. and is survived by her children Charlene Ellis Gibson and husband, James, and Keith Aaron Ellis and wife Terri; grandchildren: David Ellis Gibson and wife, Jessica; April Ellis Houston and husband, Inman; Rachel Gibson Fowler and husband, Matthew; Stephanie Ellis Earnest and husband, Troy; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Grace, Logan, and Micah Houston; Abigail and Sophie Gibson; and her beloved dog, Chaz. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, June 25 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at A.S. Turner and Sons, North Decatur Road with the funeral to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Reverend Jonathan Spencer will be officiating.
