Sarah Quinette Lowder Ludlam, formerly of Toccoa, died Wednesday May 2, 2018. Quinette was born in Sylva, NC in 1946. Her family later moved to Orlando, where she met and married her high school sweetheart and lifelong love, Jim. She had 2 daughters and a grandson that loved her dearly and knew that they, truly, had the best Mother and Grandmother on the planet! She was a registered nurse for over 40 years, specializing in geriatric and long term care. She loved her family. She loved her friends. She loved her peanut butter! She was kind, she was compassionate, and she thought the best of everyone she encountered. She was LOVED. In the early morning hours of May 2, a fire destroyed the Decatur home of her oldest daughter and her husband, whom she had recently moved in with. Sadly, Quinette did not survive. She was preceded in death by her beloved Jim in 2010. She is survived by her oldest daughter and son-in-law- Brandi and Rich Patten; her youngest daughter and son-in-law- Buffie and Ben Davidson; her favorite person in the world - her grandson- Cooper Atticus Blackburn; a sister - Claudia Bergquist; and a brother - Michael Lowder. A joint service, for Quinette and her mother Myrtle, will be held Saturday June 16th at 2pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA.
