Scott B. Wehunt

Scott Byron Wehunt, 58, of Decatur, passed away March 6, 2016. Born November 18, 1957, in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Glynn B. and Gail Jackson Wehunt. For 21 years he was the best father and best friend ever to his son, Reynolds. Scott was executive vice president of B&A Supply Co., Inc. for 26 years and executive vice president of B&A Supply Co. of Augusta, LLC for 10 years. As an avid tennis player, he was a member of Twin Lakes Swim and Tennis Club where he was associated with ALTA and USTA; he was also an avid golf player and swimmer with DeKalb Dynamos. He attended Lakeside High School, went to Clemson on a full swimming scholarship and then transferred to his Alma Mater, University of Georgia. Scott was a loyal member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at UGA and will be remembered for his sweet soul, gentle spirit, wicked sense of humor, infectious smile and his remarkable recollection of all of the legendary war stories emanating from that unique collection of misfits who were lucky enough to call the ATO house on River Road their home in the late 70's and early 80's. You could not hand pick a finer man to be your "brother" and he will be sorely missed.

Scott is survived by his beloved son, Reynolds Wehunt; brother, Steve Wehunt and his wife, Nancy; sister, Tracey Dukeman and her husband, Brian; niece, Katie Wehunt Phillips and her husband, Dylan; two nephews Max Dukeman and Jacob Wehunt; great-nephews, Crate and Rhett Phillips; and his University of Georgia Alpha Tau Omega fraternity family.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9. Services will be held Thursday March 10, 2016 at 12:00 p.m., with Reverend Freddy Hogg officiating in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend a "Thank You" to the nurses and physicians on the 2nd floor Neuro CCU at Northside for all of their help and care.
