Sebastian Roman passed away and was received into eternal rest on Friday, February 2, 2024. He was born on September 24, 1996, in Decatur, Georgia. He is survived by his father, Jesus Roman, his mother, Luz Stella Roman, one sister, Diana Roman, one brother Donovan Plantadis (Cinthia) and two cherished nephews, Matthew and Jacob. He is also survived by five maternal aunts, Maria Eugenia, Beatriz Elena, Patricia, Adrianna, and Rocio, a host of cousins, and his Godmother Susan Bishop, who was given the blessing of being his madrina. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Amanda Zapata, his maternal grandfather Benjamin Tabares and two maternal uncles, Luis Fernando and John Mario.
As a child Sebastian attended the Decatur United Methodist Pre-School and graduated from St. Thomas Moore Catholic School in 2011. He then graduated from St. Pius X Catholic School in 2015. Sebastian attended Georgia College and State University for one semester, after which he received his Associate's Degree from Georgia Perimeter College in 2020. He was currently working on his Bachelor's Degree from Georgia State University in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. Although he never lived in a different country, Sebastian had a keen ear for languages. His Hispanic roots influenced his love for the languages. Sebastian was tri-lingual, speaking English, Spanish, and he received honors in French during his high school career.
Sebastian enjoyed poetry and music. Listening to music was one of his favorite hobbies. His eclectic musical choices ranged from Mozart and Beethoven, to jazz, to contemporary bands, mariachi, reggaeton, and even French cabaret songs. Sebastian also enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook. He specialized in making his own unique and "mucho caliente" salsa.
Sebastian will be remembered for his lively sense of humor, his quick and witty mind, his laughter, and his masterful comprehension of computers and technology. He will also be remembered for his willingness to help others, and his polite and sensitive demeanor. Throughout his employment opportunities, Sebastian excelled and was promoted quickly into managerial positions.
Whenever Sebastian's truest and most delightful self-entered the room, he entered with a big presence, full of laughter, and he invited all to enjoy his witty and clever conversation. He will also be remembered for his gentleness, compassion, and tender-hearted enjoyment of his two cherished nephews, Matthew, and Jacob. His passing has left a tremendous void in the lives of all who loved him, and his memory will be cherished forever. A.S Turner and Sons has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
