Sharon Anne Meyerson

February 20, 1945 — March 2, 2022

Sharon Anne Maxwell was born at Emory University Hospital on a blustery Tuesday in 1945. Second daughter of Jean and Tom Maxwell, “Sherry” preferred cold weather from that twentieth day of February, on. An avid traveler, shopper, and animal-lover, she enjoyed filling crossword puzzles and journals alike. Her beauty was not just unmistakable but radiant throughout her life; the magnetism of which, combined with her wit and charm, gave her an effervescent social presence. Friendships were a huge part of Sherry’s life: those sprung from her childhood in Macon, GA, to those made and maintained on Facebook. A natural artist, her talent was bolstered by art studies at The University of Georgia. She used various mediums to capture the likenesses of people and places dear to her. Sherry’s career as a pediatric ophthalmology office manager gave her tremendous joy and fulfillment. The efficiency and loyalty with which she conducted herself is her professional legacy.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents Eugenia Gilbert Maxwell and Thomas Herbert Maxwell, Jr.; her husband Stanley Phillip Meyerson, and her four-legged companions Maggie and Punkin. She is survived by her sister, Glenda Maxwell Bell (Griffin); her children: Stephanie Maxwell Train (Bob Garrett), Sissy Train Speirs, Robert Train III (Tonya); her grandchildren: Sally Brighton Harwell, Katherine Anne (Katie) Mogilski, Virginia Louise Speirs, Elizabeth May Speirs, Robert Train IV and Jack Thomas Train; niece Katherine Bell McClure (Christian) and nephew Griffin Boyette Bell (Jessica).

Many thanks to the professionals at Atria Park of Tucker, Winship Cancer Institute at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Agape Hospice.
