Shelley Lee Hamilton, of Atlanta, age 60, daughter of LeRoy Pinkerson, Jr. and the late Eleanor Gamble Pinkerson of Decatur, passed away on June 2, 2007. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and held a Master's Degree in Art from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. An exceptionally gifted visual artist, she brought tremendous creativity and a keen eye for color and style to a wide variety of artistic genres. She was also noted and admired for her landscape garden design and interior decorating. She shared her artistic gifts as an extremely innovative art teacher, inspiring students for over 30 years at a number of schools in Newton County, GA, Newnan, GA, and Ft. Rucker, AL. She is survived by her father, two aunts, Jeanne Pinkerson Dreyfoos of Atlanta and Marjorie Ihle Pinkerson of Kennesaw, GA, and four cousins. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 2:00 pm, at the City of Decatur Cemetery, 299 Bell St., Decatur, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Rd. NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. Funeral arrangements by A.S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, GA.
