Sherry Elizabeth Pitts, 50 of Brookhaven Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2019.
Sherry was an incredible, loyal, and true friend to many. She was selfless in helping friends, family, co-workers, clients, and neighbors. She was loved by her family and friends, respected by her colleagues, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Goodbyes hurt the most when the story is left unfinished.
Sherry had a big personality, which was fun and inviting. She was always welcoming to anyone she met and in her own way would leave her mark on everyone in her path. She worked hard but took time out of her hectic schedule to take trips to the beach and other festivities with her friends. Sherry would plan weekend adventures to the mountains to hike new trails, see waterfalls, and possibly stop for a craft beer or two.
Sherry loved animals and was prone to rescue and care for those in need. She would often relay fond memories of all her cats and dogs from her childhood and adult life.
Sherry was a graduate of Heritage High School in Conyers, GA and received a Bachelor of Science from Georgia State University. She enjoyed a successful career in the financial investments service. She was a regional Vice President for GK Development, Inc., ArcTrust, and Mill Green Partners
Sherry is survived by her cat Olive Pitts; siblings, Jennifer and Larry Westerman of Decatur GA, Jeff Pitts and Donna Rewalt of Durham NC, and Ben Pitts and Aleia Daniel of Athens GA; nephews, Brennan and Collin Pitts of Durham, NC; uncle and aunts Barrett and Elizabeth King of St. Marys GA, and Barbara Sue (Pitts) Hendrix of Peachtree City GA. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Jerry and Sally (King) Pitts, and grandparents, Charles Chester and Sally (Lambe) King, and Paul Clarence and Willie Bell (League) Pitts.
