Shirley Agnes Macomber Paquin, beloved mother, was enfolded into the arms of her Lord on Saturday, May 7, 2022, with daughters Jennifer Paquin-Murphy and Julie Renee Paquin holding her hands and by her side. Shirley was born September 10, 1944, in Washington, DC, and was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s in interior design. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi and was a Rainbow Girl which led to her being inducted into the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also active in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Shirley was an accomplished cook and superb hostess, always eager to share recipes with friends until her declining health robbed her of these abilities. She loved her two daughters and was extremely proud of them.
She is predeceased by her parents Chester A. Macomber and Mary Ella Macomber. She is survived by her loving daughters Jennifer Paquin-Murphy (Patrick) of Decatur, GA, and Julie Renee Paquin of Brookhaven.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 1:00pm-4:00pm. The celebration will be held at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA 30033. (404-292-1551) She will be then taken to Clanton, AL, to be put to rest in the historic Scandinavian Cemetery next to her parents, Mary Ella Gerald Macomber and Chester A. Macomber.
