Shirley Ann Bartles

Shirley Ann Bartles, age 77, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Wayne Bartles, her sister Betty Lashlee Dawson, and her beloved niece, Debbie Dawson Dorman. Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Shirley lived the majority of her life here in Atlanta. After many years of service, Shirley retired from Eastern Airline. She continued to remain active in her community through her volunteer work. Shirley enjoyed being a Pink Lady at the Piedmont Hospital, and she was an active member of Clairmont Presbyterian Church. Most of her free time was spent playing bridge with her wonderful friends. Shirley is survived by her brother DJ Lashlee of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and her “children,” Wayne and Mary Ann Bartles of Richardson, Texas, Leigh Bartles of Charlotte, North Carolina and Lashlee Dorman, Jim Dorman, Paul Dorman, Molly and Matthew Flynn all of Memphis. Visitation will be held at 10 AM at Clairmont Presbyterian Church, 1994 Clairmont Road on Saturday, September 13, 2008 with the service beginning at 11 AM. Burial will be at Crest Lawn Memorial Park. Services entrusted to A.S. Turner and Sons. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
