Shirley Faye Cofer

Shirley Faye Cofer passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 after a long and happy life surrounded by loving family and friends. She was 87 years old, born in Dacula, GA on November 26, 1935 to the late Grace and Maurice Britt. She went to Tucker High School and graduated in 1953. Shirley dedicated her life to raising her family and then spent her later years working as a school bus aide in DeKalb and Gwinnett counties. She was a strong and beautiful matriarch to her family; a loving Mother, MawMaw and Great MawMaw. She enjoyed spending her days with her beloved high school sweetheart and husband of 63 years. She loved and adored all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially with her presence at all of their school and sporting events. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time at the beach and outdoors. Shirley (Mama/MawMaw) was preceded in death by her husband Richard (PawPaw) Cofer, son Ronnie and grandson Dustin Cofer. She is survived by her two sons and daughter; Coy and wife Kim, Keith and Vicky, Connie and husband Tim. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kara (Todd) Scott and their daughters Kyla and Blakely; Jeremy Cofer; Derek (Jessica) Cofer their sons Austin and Gavin; Brandie (Shawn) Croat and their children Nicholas and Savannah; Brittany (Cameron) Brantley and their daughter Ellie; Curt (Kayla) Frankenfield and their children James, Katelyn, and Jace. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA.
