Slobodan D. Zivkovic, 94 passed away on February 17th 2015.He was born in Vlasotince, Yugoslavia on January 9th 1921 to Jelena and Draguljub Zivkovic. After surviving a Nazi labor camp, Dan considered himself blessed the day he received the letter granting him entrance into the U.S. He arrived in February 1952 on the SS Homeland. It was in a dance hall in Chicago, where he met Charlotte, his sweetheart and wife of 41 years. They were married August 8th 1953. Later they moved to Decatur, GA where they began their family. Dan and Charlotte were long time members of Peace Lutheran Church. Dan worked for the First National Bank of Atlanta for 31 years where he was an innovator. His work ethic and ideas allowed him to rise to the position of Corporate Trust Officer. He enjoyed a long retirement living life to the fullest. He spent his time with family and friends, dancing, traveling, and grilling hamburgers. Dan is remembered by his family as a kind man who loved God and his family. He was a friend to everyone he met. He was a man of integrity who celebrated life and valued education. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlotte and his siblings Vojin Zivkovic, Sinisha, Alexsander, and Milanka Begovic. He is survived by his children Susan Winner (Tony), Linda Trover (John) and Tom Zivkovic, his grandchildren Elizabeth, Benjamin, Rebecca, Amy, Eric, Karen, Daniel and Timothy, his great grandchild Carson, his niece and nephew in-law Sandy and Steve Skinner and his close friends Billie Carrie and Sylvia Johnson. His family would like to thank his many friends at Arbor Terrace where he was so happy and active. Visitation is Sunday, 22 February at 1pm with funeral following at 2pm at Peace Lutheran Church, Decatur, with Interment immediately following at Floral Gardens Cemetery.
