Snowdell E. Morris, of Tucker, GA, passed away on January 19, 2017, at the age of 99 years. She was within a month of reaching 100. She was born in Gwinnett County on February 17, 1917, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Elmer and Carrie Rainey. The Rainey Family moved in the 1920's to tucker and then settled in Clarkston. Mrs. Morris has lived in this area since that time. She graduated from Clarkston High School in 1935, and enjoyed playing basketball in school. In 1937 she married David Candler Morris of Tucker. Their marriage lasted for 60 years until Mr. Morris passed away in 1997. In 1949 Mrs. Morris opened her first business in Clarkston. It was called Morris Variety Store. At that time most of the shopping for dry goods was located in Atlanta. The little store served the community throughout the 50's with clothes shoes, sewing items, and toys. Around 1961, Mrs. Morris closed the Clarkston store and joined with her husband in running Morris Super Market in Tucker. She continued to be active and in 1990 she opened the Brockett Plaza Thrift Shop. This is a flea antique store that served the Tucker area. She worked into her 99th year and enjoyed every minute of being a small business owner. She was a long time member of the Clarkston United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons, Ronald E. Morris and Fred C. Morris of Tucker; grandchildren, Sherry Perrotta and her husband, Ken, Joey Morris and his wife, Sara, and Candler Morris and his wife, Luiza; great grandchildren, Tori and Lexi Perrotta, Samuel, David, Matthew, Johnny, and Caleb Morris.
