Spencer Alan Lee, 49, went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2009 after a heroic battle with cancer. He was born and lived all of his life in Atlanta. He graduated from Briarcliff High School and DeKalb College, and was employed by the State of Georgia. He was a member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church. Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Howard and Margaret Lee. He is survived by his brothers; Howard B. Lee, Jr. and wife Vicki, Richard Lee and wife Patti, and Michael Lee. Spence is remembered for his sense of humor, his joy found in helping others, his always positive attitude in the face of personal adversity, his love of the Braves, and the Georgia Bulldogs. He accepted life as it came and met it with a hero’s faith and determination. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Spence’s “Angel on Earth” Winde Sullivan and to her husband Hank Sullivan, to his Uncle Ben Porter, to Nigisti Ogbayohannes, and to his devoted friends Butch and Libby McMahan. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church. Rev. Larry T. Burgess and Rev. Fred Pitts will officiate. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
