Stanley Citron, 81, of Decatur, GA passed away on Monday November 18, 2019 at his residence. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Jack and Rose Baturin Citron. He spent his childhood in Brooklyn, NY and Miami Beach, FL. After graduating from high school, Stan joined the Navy and served in the submarine fleet.
After his discharge, he attended Florida State University for his undergraduate degree and Emory University for graduate work. Stan served as an instructor at West Georgia College in Carrollton (now the University of West Georgia) and at Georgia State University. He also worked for the Atlanta Housing Authority as a social worker in senior citizen high rises before transitioning to commercial real estate. Throughout his life, Stan was involved in his community, from serving as President of the Jaycees to various political and charitable activities.
He is survived by his son, David and his wife, Krista, their daughters, Vasilka and Katya, and an amazing group of life-long friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at A. S. Turner and Sons at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2020. The family will receive guests one hour prior to his service.
