Mr. Stephen Ralph Rice, 51, of Greenville, SC and Atlanta, GA, died Monday, December 14, 2009. Steve graduated from Henderson High School and attended DeKalb College for 2 years. He began his career early in life working in restaurants in and around the Atlanta area. He worked in the Buckhead Life Group for many years. He was the executive chef at the 191 Club in Atlanta and later at country clubs in Macon, Aiken, S.C. and a well known restaurant in New York. He was currently Executive Chef at the Greenville Country Club. Steve was a member of Briarlake Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Sarah Kates Rice; parents, George Ralph and Ann Griffin Rice; sister, Vicky Logan and her husband Mike Logan, all of Atlanta; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 19th at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Pastor Rusty Womack of Rehoboth Baptist Church will be conducting the service. A private family burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
