Steven Douglas Gibson

Steven Douglas Gibson, 55, of Oxford, GA and Greensboro, GA passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, GA.
Steve was born October 5, 1964 in Stone Mountain, GA. He graduated from Stone Mountain High School and earned the rank of Eagle with the Boy Scouts. He owned Douglas Realty and had previously owned Precision Paint and Collision. Steve enjoyed snow skiing in Montana; spending time at Lake Oconee; deep sea fishing; cooking; hiking; cycling; remodeling homes; helping others; and spending time with family and friends. A beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Steve will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his parents, Reigh and Connie Gibson; a brother, David Gibson (Jamie Sills); a sister, Lisa Landress (Jerry); nieces and nephews, Jason Gibson (Tori Heath), Ethan Landress (Melody), and Ellen Mofield (Tim); a great niece, Jessica Mofield. Steve was preceded in death by nieces, Jessica and Heather Gibson.
The family will receive friends at A.S. Turner and Sons on Wednesday , October 23, 2019 beginning at 12 noon. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA.
