Stuart Robert Maifeld died February 2,2025. He was born in Spartenburg, S.C. to Robert and Carolyn Maifeld on January 27, 1958.
He is survived by his partner Christen Kelly; brothers Jim, Joseph and David; niece and nephews Phil, Joseph, Patrick, and Katie.
As a young child, he over came the effects of Parthese Disease with no ill effects. He graduated from St. Thomas More and Decatur High Schools and attended Georgia Tech for a period. He got into the custom interior industry, first as a Wall Paper Hanger, and then as an Acoustical Wall Covering Installer.
It was the later that he excelled at with a keen eye for detail, and for a while lived in N.Y.C. doing many jobs, including NBC Sound studios, the office of Perry Ellis fashion designer, and John McEnroe's home. After his return home, he continued to excel and helped complete 23 thousand sq. ft. of the new Atlanta International Airport terminal, and worked at the new Mercedes Benz Stadium.
Stu Bob was a fixture in Decatur and loved by all who knew him, known for his sense of humor and a quick smile, and some historic party's at his home on Mead Rd. He will be missed by all.
