Sue Moore Argo, one of the world's sweetest souls, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, in her home following a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her family in a room full of love. Sue was born in Carrollton, Georgia on June 16th, 1932, daughter of Jack and Evelynn Moore. Sue graduated from Harrison-Draughon School of Commerce in Atlanta and attended the Atlanta Division, University of Georgia. Sue met her husband, Gene Argo, on a blind date. They were married for 52 years until his death in 2008. Sue worked in the legal department of the Coca-Cola Company and later was the bookkeeper for the family pharmaceutical businesses. Even with a full time job, she never missed her children's school events or sports competitions. Philanthropy was Sue's way of life. A tireless volunteer for organizations including the Salvation Army, Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, and Holy Trinity Parish-Episcopal Church.
She was often the voice you heard on the phone if you called Holy Trinity and the first face you saw when you walked through the Parish doors. Sue not only volunteered in the office but served on the altar guild. She was also a member of The Order of the Daughters of the King. Sue was an avid Bridge player, member of her neighborhood garden clubs, and part of a successful investment club.
She amazed her family with her ability to gather loyal friends. Before becoming ill this summer, she was still getting together with girlfriends she's had for decades. She filled a dining hall with friends for her 90th birthday.
She is survived by her son Pete Argo, daughter Catherine Argo Callaway, son-in-law Cal Callaway and grandchildren, Dr. Cali Callaway and Cashington Callaway.
A Service will be held for Sue on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at Holy Trinity Parish-Episcopal Church in Decatur at 2:30 pm with a reception following.
