Sue Ann Stoner Partridge
January 8, 1933 - July 27, 2024
Sue was born on the 8th of January in 1933 to Lil and Gladys Stoner in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was the third of four children, joining her brother, Lil Jr. and sister Jeannie. Her younger sister, Sally was born two and a half years later. Her father, Lil was a professional baseball pitcher, playing for the Detroit Tigers in the 1920s. Her mother, Gladys ran the foundation's department at Herzbergs Department store in downtown Enid. Her sister Jeannie was fourteen years older than her and became a second mother to Sue as she was growing up. They had a very special relationship. At nineteen, Sue met Bruce Alan Partridge on a double date. Bruce was paired up with Sue's friend, but he immediately became smitten with Sue. He was an airman stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid. They were married on the sixteenth on March, 1952. Bruce and Sue had six children; Curtis Alan, Susan Kelly, Carrie Lynn, Leslie Gayle, Laura Kim and Mark Francis. Most of Bruce's work life was with Eastern Airlines, moving the family from Ohio to Oklahoma to Florida and finally settling in Georgia. Sue was a stay-at-home mom for most of her life, only going outside the home for work after Bruce passed. She was in her fifties. Sue worked with her youngest son, Mark in his Schwinn bicycle shop part-time while holding a job down at the local bowling center. She finally found her calling working in the medical field, running the front office, retiring at eighty. She was an amazing woman and mother. Sue loved her family with all her heart and soul. She also loved bowling, crocheting and her Chihuahua, Jack. Sue crocheted hundreds of blankets, baby blankets, baby hats and pot holders. All of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren got a blanket. She made them for friends and new babies at the hospital. Sue was kind, loving and incredible. Preceding her in death are; her parents, Lil and Gladys Stoner; her siblings, Lil Jr., Jeannie, and Sally; her husband, Bruce; and her daughter, Leslie. She is survived by her son, Curtis Partridge (Sandy) of Marietta, Georgia; daughter, Kelly Cochran of Orting, Washington; Carrie Norris of Avondale Estates, Georgia; Kim Porter (Josh) of Buford, Georgia and Mark Partridge (Billie Jo) of Lilburn, Georgia. Sue leaves behind twenty grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren (with two more on the way) and two great-great-grandchildren.
