Diane P. Kirwan, age 63, of Avondale Estates passed away on Tuesday, January 15th after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She handled this debilitating disease with much grace and strength and good humor. Diane graduated from Towers High School in 1967 and later graduated from DeKalb Technical College. She initially worked for Drs. Guy Caulk and John Evans. Later she worked for at the Atlanta Gift Mart. She was heavily involved with her children and various community activities. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Allan A. Kirwan, sons and daughter-in-law Kevin J. and Lenora Kirwan and Nathan S. Kirwan; Scott Farmer, nephew: Beth McKinney and Amy Martin, nieces; John W. Kirwan and Lindy Farmer, brothers-in-law. Diane was preceded in death by her mother and father, James B. and Mary Lou Pearson and her sister Patsy Farmer. Funeral and Visitation will be at Avondale Estates First Baptist Church, 47 Covington Rd, Avondale Estates, GA 30002. Pastor Clay Bowden will be officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and following the service in the church sanctuary. The funeral will begin at 2:30 p.m. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the National MS Society - Georgia Chapter, 1117 Perimeter Center West, Suite E101, Atlanta, GA 30338. A. S.
