Without Susan Hambrick Legend, the world loses a little sunshine, but the universe gains a new star. Her bout with cancer came to a peaceful end on June 9. She passed away at home in the company of her son, Derek D. Hambrick, and is survived by daughter-in-law Carmen, grandson Gabriel, and brother David. A balance of grace and fortitude, Susan was most happy in nature, where plants flourished at her hand. Gifted in writing and singing, and enjoyed both throughout her life. She was a pioneering member of the Atlanta Sukyo Mahikari Center for Spiritual Development and pivotal in establishing the center in Decatur. Generous, humble, and broadminded, Susan had a knack for encouraging others, accentuating the positive, and seeing the humor in even the most difficult of circumstances. Her family and friends are grateful for her light and love.
