Sybil Doke Shipp

Sybil Doke Shipp, 91, died December 15, 2008.  She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, John S. Shipp, Jr., her parents Carl and Daisy Doke of Alachua County, FL and her sisters, Hazel McLean, Joyce Riherd and Shirley Doke.  She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law - Gwen and Bob Moore-Marietta, GA, Gayle and David Hard-Dunwoody, GA.; grandchildren, Kristen (and Danny) Rueckel, Erica Moore, Matthew Walters, Kevin Moore; great granddaughter, Charlotte Ruechel and sister-in-law, Kathleen McClellan, all of Atlanta. Other survivors include 3 sisters, Nell Dukes, Sue (and Chester) Ellis, Claire (and Duke) Ellington and a brother, Kent (and Barbara) Doke, all of FL.  She also leaves many nieces, nephews and their families. Graveside services will be held at Newnansville Cemetery, Alachua, FL on Saturday, December 20th at 2:30 p.m.  There will be a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 22nd at Mt. Bethel UMC, Marietta, GA. Contributions may be sent to the Helping Hands Fund at Mt. Bethel UMC, 4385 Lower Roswell Rd., Marietta, GA 30068.
