Sylvia Winslett Horan, formerly of Clarkston, GA, died Friday, November 21, at her home in Missouri City, TX. She was born July 26, 1947, to W. J. and Jeanette Winslett. Sylvia was a graduate of Clarkston High School and Emory University, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was preceded in death by her father. Sylvia is survived by her husband, David Horan, and stepsons Matthew and Paul. Survivors also include her mother, Jeanette Winslett of Lilburn; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Ronald Moore of Watkinsville and Sherry and Tim Culligan of Suwanee; nephews Kevin Moore, Jared (Krystal) Moore, Patrick (Cathy) Culligan and Sean Culligan; and niece Erin Culligan. Sylvia was a loving wife, daughter and sister and will be greatly missed not only by her family and friends, but by her three cats, Sugar, Salem and Layla. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 6, 2008 from Noon until time of service at 2:00 pm at A. S. Turner & Sons in Decatur, GA. Interment will be at Melwood Cemetery, Stone Mountain.
