Terry Ann Carpenter

Terry Ann Collins Carpenter passed away October 25 at DeKalb Medical, Decatur. She loved the outdoors, dancing, music, travel, costumes, animals, doting on her grandchildren, spending time with her large extended family, and anything that flashed or sparkled. Always the life of the party, she was serious about getting the best view in the hotel, or the best table in the restaurant. Born in Atlanta in 1943, Terry married her college sweetheart, Noel A. Carpenter, in 1963. They enjoyed a long marriage filled with happiness and adventure. After the loss of her husband in 1995, she traveled extensively with her sister and brother-in-law, Oliver Peters. She is survived by her sister, Carman Peters; son, Chris Carpenter; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and John Mills; and by her grandchildren, Lori Carpenter, Amber Carpenter Yun, Brooke Mills, Sydney Mills, and Dana Carpenter. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Fur Kids Animal Rescue and Shelter, www.furkids.org. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Smoke Rise Baptist Church, 5901 Hugh Howell Road, Stone Mountain GA 30087.
