Thelma Frazier Hewatt, age 95, of Decatur died May 5, 2005 after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. She was born January 30, 1910 and spent her entire life in DeKalb County. She retired from the film industry in 1972. Her excellent memory and ability to recall past events amazed everyone. "Mama Hewatt" was loved by all and was admired for her wit and humor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Hewatt, Sr. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Ottis and Alma Hewatt and Gene and Lou Hewatt. She is also survived by her daughters, Doris Stapp and Janice Hewatt, and by nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was a long-standing member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church where a celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, May 8th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to Rehoboth Presbyterian Church, 2729 Lawrenceville Hwy., Decatur, GA, 30033 or your favorite charity. The family will receive friends at A. S. Turner & Sons on Saturday, May 7th from 5 to 8 p.m. The interment will be at Rehoboth Cemetery. A. S. Turner & Sons
