Theron Whitton

Theron "Michael" Whitton, Jr., 37, passed away November 30,2008 at home in Atlanta from an extended illness. He was a life long resident of DeKalb County. Michael was a member of Druid Hills Presbyterian Church. He was always known for his kind, warm spirited, big hearted and giving personality. He possessed a work ethic rarely found in people. Michael began work at the tender age of 13 and continued to work diligently as long as his illness would allow. Michael is survived by his loving husband of 10 years, Douglas Flanagan, of Gainesville; six "children", JR, AJ, Simon, Annabelle, Bailey and Jake; sisters, Anna Lawrence and Michelle Stuckey; brothers-in-law, Brian Fountain, Anthony Stuckey, Steve Flanagan, Stanley Flanagan, Calvin Cross and Chris Loden; sisters-in-law, Lisa Loden, Melissa Flanagan and Michelle Ferguson; nephews, Shawn Lawrence, Seth Lawrence, CJ Hagedorn, Bryan Barry; nieces, Jessica Barry, Savannah Loden, Haley Flanagan, Shae Flanagan, and Mackenzie Ferguson; great-nephew, Michael Barry. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday, December 2nd at A. S. Turner & Sons in Decatur. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 2pm in the chapel at A. S. Turner & Sons.
