Thomas Carson Wilburn

Thomas Carson Wilburn, 83, was born in December, 1932. Except for four years spent in service to his country in the U.S. Navy and a final year at the War Veterans Home, he spent his life in Decatur. He was a student at Winnona Park Elementary and Decatur High School and also attended Oglethorpe University. Thomas worked at A.S. Turners Funeral Home, Kraft Foods and finally served as a security officer. He was predeceased by parents, Catherine and Walter Ross Wilburn, brother, Joseph Gustavus Wilburn and wife, Anne Ruth Bratcher. He is survived by one child, Charles Thomas Wilburn, grandchildren Charles Thomas Wilburn, Jr and Samuel Moore Wilburn, and two great grandchildren. Survivors also include a brother, Walter Ross Wilburn and sister, Catherine Carter. Thomas and his son Charles enjoyed many outdoor adventures together. Ever an animal lover, Thomas would like contributions to be made to the Humane Society, in lieu of flowers. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday afternoon, March 30th at 3:00 in the Decatur Cemetery. A visitation will be at A.S. Turner's Funeral Home from 1:30 - 2:30 pm prior to the service on Wednesday. A.S. Turner Funeral Home & Crematory.
