Rev. Dr. Thomas L. Curtis, Sr., age 72, of Decatur and Albany, GA entered into the Father's House on Wednesday, August 18,2004. His education included a Bachelor of Arts from Asbury College, Wilmore, KY; Bachelor of Divinity, Candler School of Theology at Emory, Decatur, GA; Masters of Sacred Theology, Boston University, Boston, MA; and Doctor of Ministry from Candler School of Theology. During his ministerial career, he served as student pastor at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Gadsden, AL, and as associate pastor of St. Luke UMC, Columbus, GA. He was a missionary to Rhodesia, Africa (now Zimbabwe) from 1960-1976; served as Director of Volunteers in Mission, SEJ, from 1976 to 1995; and was currently Minister of Pastoral Care at Ousley UMC, Lithonia, GA. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret Williams Curtis, formerly of Clay, AL; daughter, Carolyn; son and daughter-in-Law, Thomas L. Curtis, Jr. and Julie; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and James Calder; five grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Anne and John Olson of Albany, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 19, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 20, at Ousley United Methodist Church, 3261 Panola Rd., Lithonia, GA. Internment will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 21, at Riverside Cemetery in Albany, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to UMVIM or Africa University in care of Ousley United Methodist Church. A. S. Turner & Sons
