Thomas E. Bender

Thomas E. Bender, son of Eileen M. and Frederick J. Bender, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Tom was a native of Omaha, Nebraska and a veteran of the Vietnam War. Tom was a long time employee of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, stationed in the Atlanta office. Tom was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 550. He was chairman of the Archdiocese of Atlanta Catholic Committee on Scouting. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Patrick Bender. He is survived by his sons, Ted Bender, Tucker, GA, Peter Bender, Tallahassee, FL and John and Victoria Bender, Snellville, GA; grandchildren, Elijah and Penelope Bender; brothers, Dennis Bender, Omaha, NE, Jerry Bender, Cape Girardeau, MO and Fred Bender, Omaha, NE; sisters, Sharon Zack, Omaha, NE, Peggy Cruver, Omaha, NE and Mary Potmesil, Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Juan Anzora officiating. A. S. Turner & Sons
