Thomas E. Fulmer, M.D. died February 27, 2005. Dr. Fulmer was born December 29, 1925 in Johnston, SC. He was a veteran of World War II. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Charleston and worked for the VA hospital in Atlanta as Chief of Psychiatry. Dr. Fulmer was best known for his work with Vietnam Veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Fulmer was an avid gardener and a long time member of the Bonsai Society. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Steve McCrae; granddaughter, Shannon McCrae; and brother, Lewis Fulmer. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dr. John Roark officiating. Burial will be held later in Buford, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Military Family Network, 1000 Bridge Street, Suite D, 2nd Floor, Hampton, VA 23669. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
