Thomas Edward Crawford, Sr.

Thomas E. "Tom" Crawford Sr. died Monday in Tucker at age 87.He was born June 10, 1928 in Goggins, Ga. and was raised on a peach farm in Johnstonville. After graduating from Gordon Military School in Barnesville, he came to Atlanta in 1945, where he would live and work the rest of his life. Although he left the family farm at the age of 17, he always retained a deep love of gardening and spent much of his free time in that pursuit. During his working hours, he worked at various times as a tax accountant and for Sears Roebuck as a kitchen designer and appliance salesman. He became heavily involved in dowsing and for a time was the president of First Georgia Dowsing, the local affiliate of the American Society of Dowsers. He is predeceased by his wife, Nora Lee Garrett Crawford. He is survived by his sons, Tom Crawford Jr. (Lynn) and Garry Crawford (Linda); brothers Dan, Kenneth, and David Crawford; and granddaughter Paige Crawford.
