Thomas Glenn Hill

Dr. Thomas Glenn Hill III, passed away Thursday May 15, 2014 following a short illness. Dr. Hill was a prominent surgical dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon in the Atlanta area, who truly enjoyed serving his patients, family and community for 37 years.

Dr. Hill was born in Atlanta and attended Riverside Military Academy and Emory University, where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He attended the Medical College of Georgia and went on to serve overseas in the Air Force, achieving the rank of Major. Following his military service, Dr. Hill completed his surgical residency at the University of Virginia. He then returned to Atlanta to establish his medical practice and quickly developed a reputation across the southeast for his surgical expertise. Dr. Hill was an accomplished physician and surgeon certified in Dermatology, Surgery and Cosmetic surgery. He was a recognized member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Dermatology, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Association of Georgia.

Dr. Hill was also a frequently published author in several medical journals and served as a guest speaker to teach advanced surgical reconstructive techniques all over the country. He was on staff at Dekalb Medical Center and taught surgical dermatology clinics at Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Hill is survived by his loving children: daughters Betsy and Jenny, and sons Thomas G. Hill IV and Tyler, sisters Nancy Thompson and Judy Hill and niece Mandy Thompson. Dr. Hill's grandchildren Alex, Bret, Austin, Grant and Riley will miss him greatly and remember him fondly. We will celebrate Dr. Hill's life on Friday May 23, 2014, in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons at 11:00 A.M.. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Friday as well. The family welcomes Dr. Hill's friends, associates, patients, fellow physicians, friends and family to join in this remembrance of a remarkable man with a remarkable legacy, as a physician, surgeon, father, teacher and friend.
