Thomas Litchfield Williams passed away peacefully at Emory University Hospital on July 27, 2015 at the age of 86. He lived in Tucker, Georgia and spent much of his time at his second residence on St. Simons Island. Mr. Williams is survived by his three children, six grandchildren and three (almost 4) great grandchildren.

Mr. Williams, known to his family and friends as TL, T, Tommy or Tom, was born in New Orleans, LA August 29, 1928 to Alfred Litchfield and Annie Beasley Williams. His parents soon moved to Birmingham, Alabama where Tom spent the next 26 years. He spent many of his summers in Lavonia, Georgia with his Mother's family. He attended Woodlawn High School and after graduation went to work for IBM Corporation. He quickly moved up the ladder and within a few years was a regional sales manager in Texas and Kansas. His positive attitude, entrepreneurial spirit and business knowledge, led him to open his own company in 1966; TLW Corporation. TLW Corp was one of the first companies to buy and sell used computers and equipment. He later developed and built apartments and managed commercial properties. A life-long member of the United Methodist Church Tom was active in his church communities supporting and participating in many capacities.
TL was a 50 year member of the Atlanta Athletic Club, joining in 1964. Tom was a dedicated member of the Emory Heart Health Program. His mission was to encourage as many people as possible to take care of their health through exercise and diet. He was a great example of the benefits of his philosophy. Tom participated in the Peachtree Road Race for 20+ consecutive years.
His funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons on Friday July 31 at 10:00 am with interment services to follow at Stone Mountain Cemetery, where he will be buried beside his great-grandparents, grandparents, father and brother. Visitation will be held Thursday July 30 from 5 to 7 pm at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, Decatur, GA.
