Thomas Paul Kenney, 82, of Tucker, passed to his eternal home on Sunday Nov. 7, 2010.
He was born in Rochester, New York to Floyd and Eva Kenney (Gettum). He moved to
Chicago, Illinois during his school years and graduated from the University of Illinois.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. His career in the property management field brought him to Atlanta in 1975. Mr. Kenney enjoyed music and singing and was active in the Stone Mountain Barbershop Chorus and the Embry Hills United Methodist Choir for many years. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Surviving are Greta, his faithful and devoted wife of 58 years; daughters, Rhonda Bearden (Dr. Dwight), Pam Stalvey (Gary); son, Thomas Sterns Kenney (Lisa); and nine grandchildren, Alexis Hill (Donnie), Garrett Bearden (Casey), Brett Bearden, Bethany Bearden, Emily Stalvey, Allison Stalvey, Caroline Kenney, Grace Kenney and Jack Kenney. He was blessed with four great grandchildren, Gavin and Zoe Jayne Bearden, Marcella Stalvey and Zechariah Hill and is also survived by a sister, Janice Bridwell (Paul), in Minnesota and extended family and friends in Illinois. He was preceded in death by one sister, Barb Hamilton of Chicago, IL. Funeral services will be held at Embry Hills United Methodist Church Wednesday, November 10th at 1 p.m. with burial at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to Embry Hills UMC or the Alzheimer's Association. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons
