Thomas Spencer Ladd III passed away peacefully on the February 1, 2013, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on November 30, 1938, to Francis MacMillan Ladd and Thomas Spencer Ladd, Jr. While in high school at Bolles School, Mr. Ladd met Ann Carrier, who became his wife in 1959. Spencer attended Washington and Lee University, where he played baseball, and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. Spencer was a devoted husband to Ann and loving father to sons Thomas Spencer IV (Marcy) of North Easton, Massachusetts, Bruce Alexander of Atlanta and Andrew McMillan (Indu) of Atlanta. Spencer is survived by three sons and three grandchildren, Colin and Michael Ladd of North Easton and Lily Ann Ladd of Atlanta, and sister-in-law Judith Carrier Fike (Walter) of Holly Springs, North Carolina. Spencer was predeceased by his wife, his brother Harris MacMillan Ladd (Elizabeth) and his sister-in-law Janelle Carrier Oosterhoudt. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to, please make a memorial donation to the National Parkinson Foundation. Funeral services for Thomas Spencer Ladd III will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 9th in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM prior to the service at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
