Thomas "Tom" Millin

Thomas "Tom" Millin, 83 of Atlanta, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. Tom was born to Samuel John and Rochina Millin on May 21, 1934 in Queens, NY. After a stint in the U. S. Navy he went to work for I.B.M. for the next 35 years, where he retired as a Senior Systems Analyst. He was a volunteer fireman in Glasgow, NY. He was an avid Braves fan and he worked as a volunteer with the Braves and the Hank Aaron Museum and was on the board of the Braves 400 Club. He also worked on computers at battered women's shelters, senior citizens groups and Actors Express and would never except payment for his work.

Tom is survived by his children, Katherine Ann (James M.) Barron, Rochina A. Millin, Sherry R. (Mike) Nabors, Anita L. (Philip) Reaka, Tommy W. McNeil & Cindy Allen, Kathryn A. (Milton) Threet and Thomas M. Millin; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; brothers, John J. (Jack) Millin of Plant City Florida and Bob Millin of Golden, CO; and sister, Ann Schrage of Staten Island, NY.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Mae Hussey Millin.

A celebration of his life will take place in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons on Thursday, July 13th at 10:30 a.m. with Elder David Greene officiating.

Celebration of the Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Tucker on Tuesday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Gary Johnson OFM Conv. officiating.

Burial will take place at Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday & Wednesday, July 11th & 12th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, Decatur.
