Thurmon E. Garner

Mr. Thurmon E. Garner, 80, of Tucker, died Thursday, April 29, 2010.  He served his country in the 1950’s in the U. S. Army.  Mr. Garner retired from DeKalb County School System, where he worked for 23 years.  He was a member of Scott Boulevard Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Jean Garner; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Bobby Schroeder and their daughter, Stephanie of Loganville; son and daughter-in-law, Ronny and Lisa Mitchell and their son, Tyler of Loganville; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda Tyson and their sons, Jeremy, Josh, Trevor and Travis of Social Circle; several nieces and nephews; and his wonderful dog Buddy.  Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Scott Emmons officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Thurmon Garner to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 56566, Atlanta, GA  30343. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
