Tom Ed Jackson

Tom Ed Jackson, age 93 of Decatur, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, Decatur, GA with Pastor Fred Pitts officiating. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA. He was a member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church in Decatur, LaVista Lions Club of Atlanta, Delta Pioneers and Mrs. Wienners' Breakfast Club. Mr. Jackson was retired from Delta Air Lines with 40 years of service as a mechanic and was eventually promoted to General Manager of Quality Control. During WWII he was in the Army Air Corp. Tom served in Egypt where he learned to maintain aircraft. Mr. Jackson returned home and married Nadine N. Rusk. Tom and Nadine were married for 60 years. Tom is survived by his daughter, Elaine Lapeyrouse and son-in-law, David of Houma, LA; son, Raymond (Ray) and daughter-in-law, Ann Jackson of Grayson, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Dennis Miranda of Conyers; grandchildren, David and Tommy Wilson of Woodstock, Wesley Jackson of Dacula and Natalie Kitchens of Statham; great grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Andy and Shelby Wilson and Callie and Owen Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, 1995 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30032. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, August 21st at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 404-292-1551.
